Bitcoin As A Business Startup

Why Bitcoin? Bitcoin is an amazing invention for many reasons.  For freedom loving people, it unshackles one’s wealth from government meddling. It’s designed to prevent “money printing” and thus prevent monetary inflation and the dilution of wealth by those who earn and save. For the “unbanked” throughout the the developing world, it allows debit-card-like transactions with very low fees. Many say Bitcoin (or something like it) will be the future of money. Why? Because it’s nearly inflation proof and its built-in scarcity makes it a store of appreciating value.  It’s “governed” by consensus of its miners; and it’s less susceptible…continue

Pre-Flight Briefing 5: Please God, Let Freedom Rein!

Since I last checked in, the left-wing’s presumptive U.S. President, Hillary Clinton, lost out to Donald Trump. A stunning shock to the so-called main stream press and the whining “safe place” left!  We’re half way through President Trump’s first week in office and I swear he must have read and followed my earlier message.  Read the July 23rd Pre-Flight Briefing and you’ll see what I mean.  I’m not sure what kind of a president he’ll be, but from what I’ve seen so far, he’s the antidote to President Obama’s America. Please God, please let Americans be free again! Please let the millennial generation…continue

Pre-Flight Briefing 4: Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?

It’s been about six months since I’ve checked in. During this time I’ve ran for political office and attempted to go a different earnings direction. I didn’t get elected to my state’s House of Representatives and my “different direction” didn’t pan out. I won’t go into much details about either but can say I’m less focused on entrepreneurialism than I’ve been for the last two years. I deleted the business podcasts that I used to listen to religiously. I couldn’t stand their hype anymore. I’ve even looked for employment, but no one will hire me. My different direction involved returning to…continue

Pre-Flight Briefing 3: Sick of working on the same thing. Waiting for new microphone.

I’ve been working on my information product and waiting on a few items from Amazon. The information product production is becoming a chore. Have  you ever worked on something so long that you’re sick of looking at it? That’s how I’d describe the course I’m working on, now. But, like what Dennis Waitley taught me three decades ago, those that can do what needs to be done instead of what want they want to do (poor paraphrase) are successful. At any rate, once I get started it gets a lot eaier. I’m waiting on my new hands-free Audix HT2P wired headset vocal…continue

Journal 19 – I’ll Only Kiss My Sweetheart!

Listen to Audio – After a year of “playing the field,” I’ve decided to break up with all but one of my “girlfriends” and fix my eyes on that special one. She’s really amazing, but I’m a little scared. You see, a year ago, I set out to start three businesses. It was like dating three great women. It sounded good at first, but eventually I realized it couldn’t last. Sharing my time wasn’t fair to them or me, for that matter. They were all jealous of each other and I found it impossible to make them feel special. It’s now time to…continue

Pre-Flight Briefing 2: Where I’ve Been to Where I’m Going: A New Year’s Perspective

Since my pivot to “Small Business Test Pilot” on or about 24 November 2014, Free-Market Startup has been around for more than a year – and likely more like one and a half years.  I’m not exactly sure when I started Free-Market Startup, but it was probably mid to late 2014. Check out the photo to the left. It’s the Wayback Machine’s ( snapshot of FMSU. Click on it to see a larger picture. I’ve been slow and meticulous in the businesses which I’ve started. In fact too slow. The online businesses are some of the most demanding and unforgiving…continue

Journal 18 – Walking a Mile in the Snow: The Cold Hard Facts of Entrepreneuralism

Listen to Audio – My validation scheme was to offer three free videos to entice potential customers to leave their email address – if I got sufficient interest, I’d move forward. However, my efforts were in vain, because I didn’t get many interested clicks and even fewer people left their email address. This validation step was a great disappointment and it made me second guess my entrepreneurial expectations; and because of this, I’ve made a major decision. Disbelief I really don’t know how a real estate training program could not be successful. The potential market includes the 10 percent of Americans who…continue

Pre-Flight Briefing 1: Feeling Down After My Disappointing Validation and FB Suspension.

The entrepreneurial life can be a little disheartening. I am a bit lost to what to do next. In fact, I’m feeling quite down. My hopes were so high and now I really don’t know what to do next. The aftermath has me sleeping in and eating icecream… as I try to decide what to do next. I haven’t felt this down in a long time. I’ll get out of my funk soon, but for now, blah! Get this, I was also suspended from advertising on Facebook (FB). They notified me a week or 10 days after my last ad…continue

Journal 17 – Validation: 3 Feet From Gold

Listen to Audio –   The easy part of being an entrepreneur is dreaming. A close second is developing the mechanics behind the dream – the web sites, the podcasts, buying cameras and reading books or watching how-to videos. But, once you kick-off the business, the dreams come into stark contrast with the realities of the marketplace. That’s where I am right now. Project 4’s validation hasn’t won out. In fact, from what I can tell, there’s not a demand for a for-sale-by-owner online training course. Ever heard of the ol’ saying about the Alaskan or California gold rushes?  It’s said…continue

Journal 16 – A Validation Nightmare

Listen to Audio –   I can’t believe it took so long!  Looking back at my Journal entries, I see that I committed to validating my next business idea in July (Journal 14).  It took about three times as long as I thought it would take and every conceivable nightmare jumped out like a bad Halloween movie.   Like most things, I opted for the most complicated way again! Is it Murphy’s Law kicking in or is it a new phenomenon, “Nick’s Law”? I’m starting to wonder! Here was my great idea. I would validate my training course with a fantastic…continue
