Journal 8 – Damn the Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead!

March was a disappointing month.  In fact, it took a lot of wind out of my entrepreneurial sail.  I spent hundreds of hours on my For-Sale-By-Owner Multiple Listing Service business (Start-Up Project 2) only to have the proverbial “rug pulled out from underneath me.”  To learn what happened, read my April 2, 2015 article “Business Start-Up: What Went Wrong?”   The MLS site is still up and running, but it’s not generating any revenue.  I stopped buying Google pay-per-click (PPC) ads and decided to just let it lay.  I do not expect any sales, though today I did change my onsite sale.  The 30-percent…continue

Journal 7 – Why I Chose Online Retail as My 3rd Project

I am considering an online products store as my third start-up business.  A physical products business appeals to me because it is sells tangible products and it can generate cash flow fairly quickly. Business Start-Up: What Went Wrong?

After researching and analyzing the marketplace and my competition, I thought I found a good business start-up idea, so I went about writing my business plan.  The “experts” suggest testing or validating one’s product or business concept; and like anything, testing is always good advice – especially if you’re spend your time and money building it.
